A Vegas Story

After one more trip in the books and considering the circumstances, Las Vegas might actually be the city of love ;-)

Tina and I ventured to Las Vegas for the second time this year. This trip was a surprise b-day present for a friend of ours. His wife planned the whole trip and kept us and another couple a secret. We all surprised him and it went over quite well. Various stories may pop up from the weekend, but I only have one to share.

Tina and I are engaged. I decided Vegas would be a good time to do it (for various reasons). Just about everyone I know knew. The code was “bellagio”. We were sitting around the Mirage sports book and were discussing something to do for the evening. I mentioned we should check out the Bellagio Fountain show and the wheels were in motion. We started over to the Bellagio and were running a bit behind to catch the show. Of course Tina had to stop for booze and we nearly missed the show. Needless to say I was getting a bit nervous that we wouldn’t get there. We got there and the show started…. everything was going as planned. I pulled Tina to the side asking her to look at a couple of pictures from the weekend. Earlier in the day I had taken a picture of the ring. I had her cycle through the pictures and she came across the picture of the ring and said “Are you serious?” I said yes, pulled out the ring and asked her to marry me. As the emotions were building she said “yes!”. With our friends there is was nice to capture the moment afterward with everyone.

Now for the plans. We are thinking June of 2007. We’ll see how that pans out in the next month or so as we begin to get some venues and such together.
